4. A Reiki SessionThis is a featured page

I welcome you into my treatment space, a calm, peaceful atmosphere where your session starts by simply walking through the door. I greet you and invite you to stop for a moment, breathe, and transition into a space of healing and balance.

After any maintenance issues are taken care of, I invite you to lie, fully clothed, on a massage table. I lay my hands on your belly so that you can get acclimated to my touch and we take a few minutes to communicate with each other. Are there any special needs that you have? Is the room warm enough? Is the music to your liking or would you rather receive in silence? Do you enjoy the scent of incense or burning sage? Is there anything else you want me to know or any questions you have? I tell you that when I am done I will leave the room and get us both some water to drink, and that you can remain lying down until I come back and then to get up slowly, when you are ready.

I then lay my hands on you in a series of positions, from the head down to the feet. I do this first while you are lying on your back, and then I have you turn over. The hand positions and the series of movements may change from time to time, but will largely follow a similar pattern.

When I come back with water and you have risen to a seated position on the table, I will give you the space to describe what the session was like for you. I do this for two reasons: one, it helps to reinforce and integrate whatever happened during the session for you, and two, it helps to bridge the transition from our session back to the outside world.
