Q: When did you complete each level of training, and how many hours were involved?
A: I did my Reiki I training in 2002. Eight hours wdavidere spread out into two four-hour segments. My Reiki II training came about a year later, and took an entire weekend including a few hours on Friday, and then all day on Saturday and Sunday. My Reiki III, or Master, training came about two years later, and spanned a period of about 6 months. This time was spent playing a supporting role in the teaching of Reiki I and II classes, practicing with my teacher, practicing on my own, and finding my own place as a Reiki Master and Practitioner. For all of my trainings, I was physically present with my teachers.

Q: Do you have a daily self-treatment Reiki practice?
A: Most commonly, I give myself Reiki as I am going to sleep and when I wake up. Throughout the day I often find myself doing self-treatment, whenever I have a hand free. I find a daily practice of Reiki to be very valuable, both from the benefits that I recive from it, as well as the daily reminder to set time aside for myself and treat myself well.

Q: What is your experience as a practitioner?
A: Since my Reiki I training I have offered Reiki in a number of settings. These range from participating in Reiki Circles, to practicing Reiki at events, to offering Reiki to friends and family, and to offering treatments professionally in my private practice. I would estimate that I have given hundreds of Reiki treatments.

Q: How do you describe Reiki?
A: I don't always describe Reiki in the same way. Sometimes I say I'm not absolutely sure what is going on - but I've experience enough results from it, both in myself and in others, that I know it is doing good and I just surrender to that. Sometimes I describe Reiki as love. And sometimes I describe it as an energy work - where I as a practitioner am a conduit for the energy that is all around us and inside us. It moves through me, through you, and back out through me, clearing and balancing both you and me at the same time.

Q: What can I expect during your sessions?
A: If you come to me for a Reiki session, you can expect that I will give you a peaceful space in which to receive, that you will be clothed while you receive, and that a full session usually includes about an hour on the table, with some time before and after for checking in and reflecting on what the session was like for you.

Q: What is your unique perspective as a Reiki healer?
A: I have always been interested in healing, and have practiced some form of bodywork for a long time. I then add my Reiki training, which I already described. On top of that I have done years of counseling work with individuals. I am a firm believer in our individual power to manifest our reality. We can heal ourselves. We bring people into our life to help us experience what we want to experience, to learn what we want to learn, to grow in the ways we want to grow. I am a firm believer in you, and I know that you can experience, and learn, and grow in all of the ways that you want to - simply by deciding to.
